Bo Cerup Simonsen

  

Bo Cerup-Simonsen graduated as an MSc in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering form the Technical University of Denmark(DTU) in 1993. In 1997 he got his PhD degree, also in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering from DTU where he worked as an Associate Professor until 2003. He earned an MBA degree in Shipping and Logistics from Copenhagen Business School in 2008. 

In 2003 Bo joined Det Norske Veritas where he was heading Maritime Technical Consultancy until 2007. From 2008, Bo was Vice President, Head of Maersk Maritime Technology in AP Moller Maersk A/S, where he was responsible for Ship Innovation, Newbuilding, Technical Consultancy, Vessel Performance Monitoring and Regulatory Affairs. In this position his responsibility covered numerous technical matters of the ships ranging from the very initial design and specification of new and advanced ships to be built, to optimizing the sailing performance from a technical point of view of the ships already in operation. His responsibilities also included development and testing of new and innovative equipment and designs for ships.

Bo came back to DTU as director of The Danish Hydrocarbon Research and Technology Centre, which was opened at DTU in September 2014.

In October 2018 Bo left DTU for the position of Vice President of Newbuild Strategy and Portfolio at Royal Caribbean Cruises.

In February 2020 Bo returned to Denmark and to Maersk.
